Members of the Pario team took on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
On Friday 15th September, 11 of the Pario team set off on the challenge of hiking the 24-miles of the Yorkshire Three Peaks route to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The team, made up of Pario colleagues from across the UK, came together for an early start from Horton in Ribblesdale to trek across the three peaks of Ingleborough, Whernside and finally onto Pen-y-Ghent, completing a total of 5,200 ft of ascent and up against some tough inclines.
The words of support and the very kind donations provided all the motivation to spur the team onwards as they embarked upon the challenge.
Unfortunately, a colleague became unwell during the descent from Whernside, and we are very grateful to the support of passers-by and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance for providing their assistance during this difficult time.
So far, the team has raised over £2,700 towards raising funds for Macmillan to provide vital services and information to those affected by cancer. Its not too late to add to this, and sponsorship can be pledged through the Just Giving page https://www.justgiving.com/page/pario-yorkshirethreepeaks
The event was organised by Luke Townsend and Paul Matthews from the Pario Commercial team, who were also supported in providing event-day nutrition from Sodexo Healthcare. Special thanks to Sodexo Healthcare for their kind donations and particular thanks to Tim Holtam and Beth Heaps for arranging this, we were very well stocked up with supplies throughout the day
A Final thank you must go to Mike Ball, our Safety Car Driver whom motivated us throughout the day.
After the event, Pario General Manager Rob Alsford commented “It was a great achievement and a demanding yet incredibly rewarding challenge. Everyone did amazingly well, and it’s a great amount to raise to such a worthwhile cause. And a special thanks to all those who donated and supported us.”
