The Project
Following the collapse of Carillion in January 2018, the project was left with a significant challenge to complete Fire Improvement and Defect works at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth.

The Brief
There was a programme of circa 200 defects and 28 fire improvement projects that were programmed to be completed by the end of March 2023.
Timeframe
Pario placed our own Project managers on site and set up a framework agreement with a Design and Build contractor. The partnership developed into a 5-year framework agreement which included Principle Contractor and Principle Designer roles to assist with the extensive programme of defects and major necessary fire improvements.

Challenges & Achievements
Despite the additional challenges of working in and around an exceptionally busy acute hospital through the COVID-19 pandemic, the on-site teams have ensured that all works have been completed to the highest standards of quality and compliance whilst keeping patient safety at the forefront of everything we do, successfully delivering over 200 defect projects and 28 fire improvement programme projects, with a total value of £28M.
